Match Notes
My knock-off version of Adam's great match summaries....The Battle of the Tank Tops. With both competitors attending (and recovering from) the tremendous Alcaraz v Tiafoe semi the night before, the decision was made to play at noon on a hot, sunny afternoon, a decision both players would rue. A match that ended up being played across 3 separate courts didn't compare in quality to the previous night's match, but it did include hustle, heart and sportsmanship that Alcaraz and Tiafoe would be proud of. Adam set the tone from the beginning with a blistering inside out forehand winner straight off the first service return, foreshadowing the challenges both players would face holding serve. A tough opening hold for Daniel, then easy hold for Adam, before Adam struck first blood with a break to make it 2-1. Daniel recovered and took advantage of some good luck across tight games to take the next 5 and the first set at 6-2. Both players showed clear signs of fatigue in the beginning of the first set, with an ugly service game from Daniel (where he genuinely considered serving underarm given the jelly-like feeling in his arm) forfeited after 5+ deuces. Adam held to make it 2-0 and looked in good position to provide Daniel with a midafternoon bagel, but a hard fought service game and lucky off-balance passing shot put Daniel on the board 1-2. The momentum swung and after numerous grueling rallies / games, Daniel took the next 5 games to finish the match. Both players acknowledged looking forward to the next tussle, but also struggled to think about it too much given the physical toll from the match. 16 games taking 2 hours says it all. Adam is a tremendous player and competitor, (and genuinely nice person) and I can't wait for the next battle

Partner Program players:
If you met up to hit around you can submit a 1st set 1-1 tie.
* If match is tied at 1 set a piece, players can play a 10-pt. tie-breaker to determine the winner.
* If a tie-breaker is played, a 7-6 score should be entered for the winner of the set.
* If players are limited on court time, it's best to play the 10-game pro set.
* Matches ending in a tie should still be reported even though W/L records don't get updated. The league can update the result when the
* Retired Flag: A retired player starts the match, but can't finish due to various reasons. A Win and a Loss is given in this situation.
* If a player doesn't show up, please report it here. We have a 3-strike policy for constant offenders.
* If a player cancels a match within 4 hrs of the match, please report it here.
* Players can play and report 1 rematch against a player still in their skill level.
* Matches with a score of 6-1, 6-2 or less will be flagged by the administrator. If you get 3 flags in a season, you are probably in the wrong
division and most likely will be moved to a different level during the season.
Ultimate goal is to have fun close matches
